The horse is cut from sterling silver in a mid-stride silhouette, legs open, head forward, mane rendered in fine rope-twist engraving along the neck. The body is filled with stone inlay, horizontal silver channel lines dividing the surface into clean bands with a bold central diamond of opal at the saddle point. The legs and mane stay polished silver, which gives the piece a nice contrast between the raw metal and the color of the stone. The back is stamped Sterling, and the round bail at the top fits any standard chain.
A compact piece at just over an inch wide, but the detail work is precise and the horse reads clearly from a distance. Eight stone options, each one giving the horse a completely different character. Turquoise goes classic Southwest, Spiny Oyster runs warm orange, Black Onyx goes dark and graphic, Gaspeite is vivid green, Tiger's Eye with Black Onyx layers earth tones, Denim Lapis is a softer blue-grey, Lapis is deep cobalt, and Sugilite brings rich purple.
