This single toggle switch cover tells two stories at once, divided by the toggle slot into two distinct and beautifully composed scenes. The upper half is a dramatic desert sunset: a wide flat mesa butte in dark brown anchors the center, with a glowing golden yellow and burnt orange sunset sky radiating behind it, and two tall dark cactus silhouettes rising on either side. The toggle mounting screw sits right in the heart of the scene, perfectly placed like a setting sun on the horizon. The lower half shifts into something more ceremonial, a stylized Navajo spirit bear rendered in gray, teal, and rust orange, with outstretched arms spread wide and a round white eye at the center, rising from a dark brown earth mound at the base of the plate. Three bold black dash marks flank the toggle slot on each side, framing the transition between the two worlds with a graphic, rhythmic accent. The warm sandy ground of the sand painting ties both halves together into a single cohesive composition.
Each cover is made on a standard white plastic single toggle switch plate and fits any standard US single toggle light switch. The sand painting is sealed for durability. Because each piece is made by hand using traditional Navajo sand painting techniques by artist Molly Goldtooth, no two covers are exactly alike, and slight variations in color and detail are part of what makes each one a one-of-a-kind work of art.
