A Navajo horse hair fired pottery jar by Ben Billy, inscribed BL Navajo on the base. The wide squat round-bellied jar has a short wide neck and open rim, covered in a warm cream and gray horse hair fired surface with dramatic black smoke-cloud formations and organic lightning-crack lines drifting across the entire body, neck, and base. A bold painted band wraps the mid-belly with a vivid sky blue upper stripe and a warm golden amber and orange lower stripe, with white diagonal crosshatch lines etched through both color bands creating a striking geometric accent against the organic smoke-fired surface.
