A handcrafted Navajo etched pottery vase by Ben Billy, signed BWL on the base. Formed from red clay in a round bulbous form with a small rolled neck and open mouth, this piece is decorated in the traditional Navajo scraped and etched style with a vivid rainbow multi-color horizontal band pattern. Sage green covers the upper shoulder, transitioning into a lavender blue band in the middle, then a bold yellow ochre band at the lower decorated zone. Vertical etched line scoring runs through all three color bands, revealing the warm terracotta clay beneath. The lower body and base are left in natural unslipped terracotta. A striking, colorful piece with a warm earthy presence.
