A handcrafted Navajo etched pottery jar by Ben Billy, signed on the base. Formed from red clay in a wide squat jar form with a flared shoulder and open mouth, this piece is decorated in the traditional Navajo scraped and etched style. A deep purple-gray slip covers the neck and upper shoulder, transitioning into a bold yellow ochre horizontal band at the widest point of the body. Vertical etched line scoring runs over the full upper body, with cross-hatch etching on the lower skirt. The warm terracotta interior is visible through the open mouth. A striking piece with strong graphic presence and earthy warmth.
