This vase is all cool tones and clean lines. Ben Billy works in cobalt and sky blue here, with earthy russet and mahogany through the middle providing a sharp contrast that makes the blue sections pop. The form is a tapered ovoid, more upright and defined than the squat seed pots, with a graceful narrow neck and polished surface throughout.
Sgraffito etchings circle the midsection in fine vertical lines, mountain motifs, and staircase patterns. No horsehair on this piece, so every carved line is fully visible against the smooth, multi-tonal finish. Signed "BL Navajo" on the bottom.
