A Navajo etched pottery seed jar by Ben Billy, signed Blu in terracotta orange script on the base. The extremely flat wide disc form has a tiny pinhole opening at the top center and no neck, with a deep rich plum slip covering the rim band, neck ring, and rounded base. Two distinct etched zones wrap the body: a wide cobalt blue upper shoulder band with short diagonal slash etched marks, separated by a thin dark brown incised line from a warm terracotta mid-lower band with a grid and crosshatch rectangular etched pattern. The contrast between the cobalt blue, warm terracotta, and deep plum creates a bold, graphic surface across the flat disc form.
