A Navajo etched pottery bowl by Ben Billy, signed BWL in terracotta orange script on the base. The wide flat squat open bowl has a broad flared rim and rounded belly with no neck, finished in a deep matte black slip on the rim, upper shoulder, and flat base. Four bold horizontal bands wrap the belly: a cobalt blue upper band with etched triangle and zigzag geometric marks, a narrow cobalt blue stripe below, a rich golden amber wide mid-band, and a warm terracotta lower band, all with continuous vertical etched lines exposing the warm terracotta clay beneath. The interior is plain unslipped warm terracotta.
