A large horse hair fired wedding vase by Luna, signed on the base. The double spout form with arched handle bridge is blanketed in dramatic deep charcoal and cream smoke-cloud patterning from the horse hair firing process. Two hand-built sculptural elements bring the piece to life: an orange terracotta pueblo village with square window cutouts sits on a dark brown mesa ledge across the lower body, while a vivid blue hot air balloon with a dark red-brown basket is perched on the shoulder above. A striking showpiece that captures the landscape and spirit of the Southwest in clay.
