A solid rectangular block of Jordanian olive wood, hollowed out to shelter the whole scene: Mary and Joseph leaning over the infant Jesus in his manger, a shepherd and two sheep at their side, and the Star of Bethlehem carved into the back wall above them. The carving is meticulous and the composition feels complete, a full nativity in a single self-contained piece.
The frame is thick at 1.55" and heavy at 14 oz, with the signature marbled grain of olive wood running across it in warm honey and deep cocoa. The wide flat base keeps it stable on a mantel, bookshelf, or altar. This specific piece is offered at a reduced price due to a chip and fracture on the reverse side sustained during carving. The front display is in excellent condition and the piece is structurally sound.
Wipe occasionally with a soft cloth and a small drop of olive oil to keep the grain vibrant and the wood nourished.
