This 6-inch Eagle Kachina is handcrafted by Jacida and DeWayne Loley, artists from Shiprock, New Mexico. The Eagle Kachina is one of the most revered and recognizable figures in Pueblo tradition, distinguished by its sweeping feathered wings, bold painted markings, and commanding presence. Each doll is shaped and painted by hand, with feather and textile accents that honor the majesty of the eagle in miniature form.
In Pueblo culture, the Eagle is regarded as the most sacred of birds, a messenger that carries prayers from the people up to the spirit world. The Eagle Kachina appears in ceremony as a symbol of strength, freedom, and the connection between earth and sky.
