This 3-inch Sunface Kachina is handcrafted by Jacida and DeWayne Loley, artists from Shiprock, New Mexico. The Sunface is one of the most recognized figures in Pueblo tradition, representing the Sun Father and his connection to warmth, growth, and the rhythm of daily life. Each doll is shaped and painted by hand, with the round face rendered in traditional symbolic colors and finished with feather and textile accents that give it an authentic, ceremonial presence.
Even at this compact size, the detail in the face, clothing, and form reflects the care these artists bring to every piece. Because each one is made by hand, colors and details will vary slightly, making yours one of a kind.
Handle gently around feather accents. Dust lightly with a soft dry brush. Keep out of direct sunlight and away from moisture.
