The Chief Kachina, known as Eototo in Hopi tradition, is one of the most revered figures in the entire kachina world. He is the spiritual leader of all kachinas, the one who speaks on behalf of the people to the spirit realm and oversees the well-being of the village. This 10-inch figure is handcrafted by Jacida and DeWayne Loley, artists from Shiprock, New Mexico, and rendered in full ceremonial regalia with a traditional headdress that commands immediate respect.
At this larger size, the detail in the face markings, regalia, and overall form really comes through. This is a piece that carries weight, both in presence and in meaning, and it makes a powerful centerpiece for any Southwestern or Native American art collection. Because each one is made by hand, colors and details will vary slightly, making yours one of a kind.
